The cost to attend JaLL USA 2017 is $300 per person. That price includes lodging, food, private busing from Minneapolis, and participation in the larp itself. We believe this is an incredible deal for a 6-day live action roleplay event.
Not everyone who signs up for JaLL will receive a spot, as there are only 66 core characters in the larp. The Casting Committee will select participants for JaLL from the applicants who have filled out the sign-up form. In the event of more applicants than characters, the Casting Committee will use information from the sign-up form and a modified lottery system to provide slots to a diverse group of participants. They will create a list of invited participants who will receive a casting survey and a wait list of potential participants. Anyone accepted into the larp will need to pay a deposit of $50 before they receive the casting survey.
You will have a little more than a week to complete the casting survey. The Casting Committee will offer you a character that they think will fit you based on the information you provide in your casting survey. We will try our best to select a character that you will be excited to play, but we can’t guarantee any player a specific character. Once you accept the character and pay the rest of the ticket price, your spot at JaLL is reserved. If you do not accept the character you are given, you will be placed at the end of the wait list with the possibility of being cast again if others drop out. For participants who are inadvertently offered a character that would be physically or emotionally impossible for them to play the Casting Committee may choose to offer them a new character right away, without placing that person on the wait list. To minimize the chances of someone receiving a character they cannot play, the Casting Survey contains questions that allow participants to opt-out of emotionally and physically difficult content ahead of time.

There were a limited number of scholarships available and they have already been given out to very deserving participants. The scholarships were funded entirely by donations from generous, magnanimous, amazing donors. At this time, there are no more scholarship funds available.
We only accept participants who are be 18 or older by February 21st 2017.
